Divaaaaas...

I really enjoyed watching this one!

A Starry Starry Night, is the story of two young kids and the friendship they form whilst encountering the harsh realities of life. Its a truly touching film that beautifully depicts the mind of a child who is experiencing the breakdown of their family. The loss, the anger, the confusion is presented subtly, but still so effectively. So much of this film is communicated through small expressions and meaningful glances. It is reflective of the tense situations in which not much is said and not much can be said, however the obvious lack of spoken words speaks volumes. Even the relationship between the heroine and hero is not one of deep conversational connection, however their appreciation and mutual understanding of one another is clear and deeply felt by both. I also really appreciate the honestly and lack of pretense in their relationship which is probably due to their young age. [That's another thing that sucks about aging, you become more self-conscious].
This film is not a tear-jerker, thank GOD! but it does tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a "kind" ending.

...possibly even better than the original!

Two musical actors sing Come What May from Moulin Rouge. This song is originally sung by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, but these two do and wonderful rendition! [Especially the guy! The girl isn't bad, but he totally overshadows her with his performance!] BRAVO!

Loud things come in small packages

I don't particularly like her, but she never fails to impress me with her talent. She's a Diva, but I guess anyone who sings like this deserves to be...

Amazing!!!

There's talent, there's hard work, and then there's just some people God has created with heavenly voices...

Totally feeling this k-pop!

I don't think I can even consider Tablo's music as "kpop", but whatever genre you'd register this song as you can't deny it's all around GOOD!

Stuff my mom says...

Mom: Maybe you should not sleep in your room on Sunday.

Me: Why not???

Mom: Because I don't trust this tree ouside your room.

John 16:20-24

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

whatever is hidding under the stairs doesn't have to be scary...

This is the most efficient use of space and design I've seen in a while.

I love Audrey Hepburn. I would love to have this mural on my wall.

Psalm 1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

"If you did not see it with your own eyes or hear it with your own ears, don't invent it with your own ears, don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth."

Isaiah 41:9-10

"...I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

How can I be discouraged or feel small when the ALL powerful God is by my side!?

Jesus Christ Loves You

...when Boy Meets World

"Mom, listen, I haven't been together with Topanga for 22 years, but we have been together for 16. That's a lot longer that most couples have been together. I mean, when we were born, you told me that we used to take walks in our strollers together around the block. When we were two, we were best friends. I mean, I knew everything about this girl. I knew her favorite color, her favorite food. Then we became six, Eric made fun of me because it wasn't cool to have a best friend that was a girl or even know a girl. So for the next seven years I threw dirt at her. I like to call those the lost years. Then when I was 13, mom, she put me up against my locker and she kissed me. I mean, she gave me my first kiss. she taught me how to dance. she always was talking about these crazy things and I never understood a word she said. All i understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I'm with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that's, that's what I think is love, mom. When I'm better because she's here." -Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World

Overcome evil with good...

I'm having one of those weeks were I question my faith in humanity.

I love Jesus. I have utter undeniable faith in Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and friend. I believe God is my creator and loves me and all of His creation.

However, His creations...people, people have been pissing me off all week. The inconsideration, critcism, belittling, selfish and mean spiritedness. It doesn't just make me angry, but it makes me feel sad and lonely. Like, I don't want to live in a world where people lack morals and common decency, let alone raise a family in it. I can't even find a guy who I think is worth really investing my love and trust to have a real relationship with. It's all so disheartening...

Then again...

My weakness is my own, in same way that other people's weaknesses are their own. Strength, realy strength comes from God. It's His Holy Spirit inside me that gives me strength. Maybe the reason why I feel so disheartened is because what I am searching for in people can only be found the warm presence of Jesus Christ.

I must rely on the Holy Spirit to not let the negativity of this world overcome me.

Paul says in...

Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Romans 12:14-21 "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do not be overcome by evil, but OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD.

...but where does this "good" come from? Certainly not from our inately sinful nature. Yes, we are capable of doing "nice" things, saying "nice" things, and keeping peaceful relations with other people. However, being "nice" is never the equivalent of being "good". Only God is truly GOOD! We must look to him as an example of what it good.

After all, Jesus came to Earth not to accept us, but so that we can accept Him. Jesus is perfect, we are the ones who are flawed and therefore, we are the ones that need to change.

SO kewl...me want!

I wanna see FIREWORKS!

I'm feeling the summer fever...BADDD! My lastest craving is FIREWORKS! But alas, NY state does not allow fireworks, so I must wait till July 4th when a friend and I will head south to Washington D.C. and enjoy a very hot and patriotic long Independence Day weekend. Whoohoo! I can hardly wait! So these picture are going to have to sustain me [and you] in the meantime.

what's the rush?!

Seriously...what is the rush?

What people don't realize that what being an "adult" being "mature" and having "experience" all really means "being responsible". We want to have all the fun without any of the responsibility or repurcussions, when it reality there is no time more fun than being a kid. You'll never be as energetic, full of potential, or untainted by cynics of the world than in your childhood. Now, I'm not foolish enough to believe that this is absolute. I know that not everyone has a wonderful childhood and unfortunately too many kids come from broken homes. However, a lot of family issues are generational as well as systemic, so problems need to be addressed somehow. This is not only the kid's fault, adults need to grow up and let kids be kids. Yes, a responsible child in the home will make life a little easier. But do not confuse this with a child who acts like an inresponisble adult, this will undoubtedly cause turmoil in the home. Therefore, let us encourage kids to be kids. I think its when we place the worries and responsibilities of adults on children that they begin to think that they are entitled to be treated as adults. Similarly to how God did not want Adam and Eve to eat the apple of the knowsledge of Good and Evil. Suddenly, we humans believe we know what is best and what is right and wrong, when in actuality we are only children who really are not ready for such responsibility. We must rely on God to show us the right way. Yes, its important to think about the future and prepare, but everyone, especially children need to live life today and not worry about the future. God will take care of tomorrow.
