It's been a very eventful year, but it's once again time to say...

It's only 5ish right now, but since when midnight strikes here on the east coast, i will be ringing int he new year with my family and friends on the island, i would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year now! A Toronto singer/songwriter with the most angelic voice and awesome humor! Her jazzy/pop/folk sytle and melo lyrics leave little left to be desired. Her self released album "Never Just A Dream" came out in 2008.

As described on her Facebook page, this album is "saucy and sweet, pensive and pure, Never Just A Dream offers a candid peek inside the romantic heart..." However, it is "much more than an anthology of youthful heartbreak." Emma Lee "deftly captures the many dimensions of love and loss."

I've fallen for the tune "That Sinking Feeling" and I'm sure I will be taken with many more of her songs to come.

C.N. Blue aka. [CODE NAME BLUE]

South Korean Indie Band debuted August 19th in Japan with their album titled "Now or Never". They also have a 2nd mini-album titled "Voice".

C.N.BLUE is a South Korean band under F&C Entertainment, consisting of 4 members - Lee Jong Hyun, Jeong Yong Hwa, Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin.

I find their indie rock style a refreshing blend of upbeat melodies and edgy rap verses. Listening to the tune "Let's Go Crazy" reminds me of the fun and simplicity of the Beatles early work. They also experiment with a few soft ballad type songs,like "Tearsdrops in the Rain" and "Y, Why", which really showcase their powerful vocal talent.

My b-day was last week, so this past weekend I met up with an old friend. He took me to this Japanese Restaurant called East. It's one of those places that serves sushi ona converyerbelt that runs through the entire restaurant! Was sooo COOL! YAY! Thanks Derek! =)

The Royal Pirates was formerly known as Fading From Dawn in the year of 2004 with members: Moonchul[guitar and vocals], Sooyoon [drums and second vocals], and Richard(Moonchan)[bass]. Richard, Moonchul's brother-the bassist in the band, passed away on 4.11.08 in a terrible car accident. Moonchul and Sooyoon couldn't be Fading From Dawn without Richard and decided to change their name to Royal Pirates. James, ex Azusa, joined Royal Pirates as bassist in Sep. 2009.

They are full Koreans who are currently in Southern CA. Moonchul and Sooyoon have lived in the United States for 10 years. James was born and raised in the United States.

What I'm loving recently...

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL
Last week I started watching the new Korean drama from the SBS network called You're Beautiful and now I am completely enamored by this show! I find myself excited with anticipation of every new episode and riddled with angst every time it's over!
The general premise of the show is a cross-dressing comedy about a girl who is recruited to impersonate her twin brother as the new member of a popular Korean idol boy band. A bit of a stretch? I know :). However, to be perfectly honest no matter how ridiculous it all seems, this shit is hilarious! I can't put it any other way! There are some truly brilliant moments created in this show, which only gets me more excited for the next episode.
It doesn't hurt that the main characters are completely adorable and yummy! Their personalities and little quirks are so endearing and entertaining, but the writers have also accomplished a great depth and back story to each character. So in every bit of humor their is also equal amounts of drama and intrigue. Simply awesome!
Today episode 4 airs! Can't wait! 2 out of the 3 other band member have discovered Mi Nam is a girl and there are already numerous awkward moments of sexual tension in the making! hehe love it!
My favorite character is Shin-woo played by Jung Yonghwa. He is definitely the most sensible of the group, a practical and laid-back individual. And he's the bassist! Can you tell I'm crushing already? ;p A definite case of second lead crush syndrome! He prolly won't get the girl in the end, but I can still cheer for him right!

I became a loyal fan of Hyun-joo after watching her in the Korean drama Partners, which aired this past summer. She is definitely an underated and talented actress. I look forward to seeing her in future dramas.

I'm EXCITED! The Perez gossip site already includes postings that allude to fashion, styles, and trends, but I think that this new site will take on a more serious edge and elaborate on fashion as a whole. The site seems to encourage webizens interactiveness by inviting the sending of videos, photos, etc. Apparently, sponsored by the GAP, CocoPerez offers us insight into a new genre of gossip being fashion and style. It's all about the Vampires!


There is a new show premiering this fall on the CW and guess what it's about?!

That's right! It's called the Vampire Diaries.

Plot description: Elena Gilbert [Nina Dobrev] has always been a star student; beautiful, popular and involved in school and friends. As the fall semester begins, Elena becomes fascinated with the mysterious new boy in school, Stephan Salvatore [Paul Wesley], and she has no way of knowing he is a centuries-old vampires.
While Stephan struggles to live peacefully among the humans, his brother Damon [Ian Somerhaulder] is the embodiment of violence and brutality. Now these two vampire brothers - one good, one evil - are at war for Elena's soul in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.

Surprise Surprise another good girl/bad boy dynamic, combined with a classic love triangle involving 2 brothers, wrapped in a small town setting, during the epic hormonal times of high school! Hmmm...should be interesting.

I've seen Nina in her role in Degrassi: The Next Generation as Mia, a teenage mother. Ian, the tall dark blue eyed hottie, I've seen in a small role on Smallville as Adam, Lana's love interest. Finally, leading man Stephan [very appropriate name for a vampire] is played by Paul who I can remember most from his time on Everwood.

We'll have to see if this show can measure up to it's fellow Vampire genre entertainment, like Buffy, True Blood, and Twlight.

Premieres Thursday September 10th on the CW.

100 years in the making...

Tonight we celebrated my Uncle's [well, technically my mom's uncle's] 100th birthday! Can you believe that?! I mean seriously...living for a HUNDRED years!

He's lived through both World Wars, the Depression, and countless societal and technological advancements. And he's still going strong! =)

We celebrated with a 12 course Chinese dinner, very traditional and delicious. There were many things I had never seen before, but ate anyway under the advisement of my uncle that all of it is edible. I found out later that some of the courses included delicacies such as jellyfish and shark's fin. It was good, just different.

I came accompanying my Dad as a replacement for my mom who was unavailable. It was fun to spend time with the Chinese side of my family. Although we could not understand most of what was said, we understood the sentiment and I look forward to seeing them at another family gathering sometime soon!

Channing is MARRIED?!



























The Step Up couple, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, tied the knot yesterday in Malibu. It's reported that over 200 guests attended the ceremony and the bridesmaids included maid of honor Emmanuelle Chriqui from Entourage and Haylie Duff. The actors met in 2006 on the set of Step Up and have been engaged since September.

Our NEW Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds, star of the recent film the Proposal, had been cast in the 2011 Warner Brother's adaptation of Marvel Comic's the Green Lantern.

The film is expected to begin production in January. Others considered for the superhero role were the Hangover's Bradley Cooper [who my friend's and i saw in the village a couple weeks back] and superstar Justin Timberlake.

His performance in his most recent work, the Proposal, was hilariously entertaining. But I think what truly proved this hottie's potential was his role in X-men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds surprised us with an exceptional display of superhuman abilities. I know him best for his comedic performances, but it's easy to see his potential for action film, especially with those rocking hard abs. And he's already got the hair down. ;p

Green Lantern...a film I'm looking forward too.

Ron Weasley caught Swine Flu






























Here it is...the first celebrity case of swine flu, the pandemic has even hit Hollywood

Actor Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, was reported to have a "mild bout" with the disease recently by his publicist. The actor had to take a few days off of filming the next film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. His publicist has also confirmed that the young actor is no longer contagious and "he has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members."

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that Ashley's Simpson's 'nose job' plastic surgery was a good decision. I mean she's a beautiful girl, but the only thing that held her back from being gorgeous was her flawed shnoz. So after the procedure she looked amazing and it seemed completely natural on her face, like it was the way she was supposed to look all the time!
However, this is a picture that was taken yesterday at an AXE launch party event and OMG!!! What has this poor girl done to herself?!?! I believe she has joined the group of plastic addicts and is well on her way to becoming a lifesize barbie...SCARY!!!
